This TransGo 722.6-A SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit fits 1996 and newer Mercedes, Dodge, Chrysler, Sprinter, Jaguar, Porsche and Jeep vehicles with the 722.6, W5A-330, W5A-580 and NAG1 automatic transmission. Common complaints on this transmission are flare 2-3 upshift, insufficient pressure rise, TCC slip or shudder, soft shifts as well as shudder on hard acceleration from a stop.
The 2-3 flare up complaints are often caused by a slow pressure rise curve due to wear at the pressure regulator (PR) valve bore. Additionally, if any of the overlap regulator valve bushings are worn, this too can cause flare up complaints on any of the up or downshifts. The lube pressure regulator valve is another area of concern that has a two-fold effect when wear occurs. The first one is a loss of lubrication pressure and secondly it causes a loss in torque converter apply pressure. Also, the springs for the 2-3 shift pressure regulator and the control pressure regulator valve are prone to breaking.

The kit includes a drop-in USA made hardened PR valve featuring longer lands which restores the hydraulic integrity of the circuit by utilizing previously unused and therefore unworn areas of their bore. Similarly, the new drop-in lube regulator pressure valve system comprising of a bushing, valve, spring and sleeve will restore the system function using the existing worn bore. Additionally, the kit includes three new overlap valve bushings as well as a replacement springs for the two springs that often break in the valve body.
